A unique opportunity to hear world renowned concert pianist Sergei Podobedov play in Crich. Sergei has toured throughout the world performing the major concert repertoire, new works and also fully improvised recitals.
Sergei Podobedov is a graduate of the Moscow Central School of Music, the Tchaikovsky Conservatory, and the Royal College of Music. He was the first recipient of a Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, Scholarship at the Royal College of Music, and the youngest winner of the Edward Boyle Award in London.
Sergei made his orchestral debut at the age of 12, playing Chopin’s 2nd Piano Concerto, before studying at the Moscow Central School of Music. In 1990, he became one of the first two Russian pianists to study at The Royal School of Music, in London.
Sergei has toured throughout the world performing the major concert repertoire, new works, and also fully improvised recitals. He played at the Queen Mother’s 90th birthday party, and has performed at the Wigmore Hall in London, the Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow, the Herbst Theater in San Francisco, and many other world famous venues. His performance in Crich will be a mixed programme from the Renaissance, Baroque and classical repertoire. It will include
Beethoven’s ‘Moonlight Sonata’, and Chopin’s ‘Polonaise’, with further works by Rachmaninoff, and others.
